Commented tour: Fiona Annis, Correspondences

March 16, 2024, 2pm

Join artist Fiona Annis on a commented tour of her new exhibition Correspondences, as she presents the results of her artistic residency at the Foundation with her exhibition Correspondences, from March 14 to May 19, 2024.

She will unveil a series of photographs based on epistolary archives composed of handwritten letters written over more than five decades: Paul-Émile Borduas, Dorothy Cameron, Danielle Corbeil, Claude Gauvreau, Cerj Lalonde, Rita Letendre, Robert Holland Murray, Barnett Newman, Rodolphe de Repentigny, Jean Paul Riopelle and Fernande Saint-Martin are among those who corresponded with Molinari; the painter, poet, teacher, theorist, polemicist, critic, husband and friend.

Fiona Annis’ photographic approach expresses a focused engagement with abstraction and an unorthodox use of the camera – sometimes abandoning the camera body altogether. Complementing her gallery exhibition, she has created a luminous work integrated into the building’s architecture, which will be on view throughout the year as the Foundation’s landmark public artwork.

Free, no reservation required.
