Spectres, by Jean-Pierre Gauthier, Pascal Audet and Emmanuel Lagrange Paquet, on tour

October 6, 2018 to Match 10, 2019

During the winter of 2017, the Guido Molinari Foundation invited the multidisciplinary artist Jean-Pierre Gauthier (who himself invited two young collaborators, Pascal Audet and Emmanuel Lagrange Paquet) to create in situ new mechanical systems that come into contact with the studio and the works of Molinari by generating images and sounds that propose new perspectives on the painter’s career.

This exhibit presents an ensemble of installations that mix the past with the present, the art of painting with that of screens and the web. The three artists took inspiration from Molinari’s creative process to construct interactive sculptures, a website, an audiovisual installation as well as Kinetic objects leaving the viewer to contemplate the similarities between man and machines of our generation.

With the collaboration of the Conseil des Arts de Montréal, the exhibition Spectres will be shown in three different venues.
