Curators: Gilles Daigneault and Margarida Mafra
The Guido Molinari Foundation presented, from May 24 to July 29, 2018, an exhibition of recent works – some of which have been expressly made for this occasion – by the sculptor Martha Townsend. These works will create a dialogue with some of Molinari’s paintings and prints. Shown under the title of Laminoir (in which you might have detected an anagram of Molinari), the sculptures and canvases will introduce several crossovers between these two worlds that the Foundation has been planning to bring together for a few years now. “This exhibition,” says Townsend, “offers me an exceptional opportunity to underline my constant interest in the volumes and spatialities of sculpture, in a dynamic dialogue with an artist whose work already influenced my thinking when I was a young art student.”
