On Thursday, October 16th at 7 pm, following a residency at the Foundation, dancer and choreographer Louise Bédard presented an in situ performance created specifically for the exhibited works by Cozic and Molinari.

Louise Bédard Danse
It was in Montreal that Louise Bédard discovered contemporary dance, notably within the Nouvelle Aire dance group. The young woman quickly made her mark as an dancer and performed for the major Quebec dance personalities, including Jean-Pierre Perreault and Jeanne Renaud. In becoming aware of the rich possibilities of dance as a means of expression, she founded her own company, Louise Bédard Danse. From the very first piece in 1983, Louise has created over thirty works – solos and group pieces, intended to be staged or performed in situ. Her works show a great degree of refinement and a constant concern for detail in performance.
As a choreographer and performer, she regularly takes part in multidisciplinary projects and often allows her own choreographic language to be influenced by other forms of art, particularly the visual arts.
The Solo Series allows the exhibited works to be presented in new ways. In addition, in situ performances allow for the exploration of relationships which occur between physical premises, choreography, performers and visitors. This approach resonates in contemporary dance, which Louise Bédard conceives as a refined study of movement and of the act of creation within its environment.
The company considers these projects as a step in the further elimination of barriers between dance forms, spaces devoted to art, and the nature of contemporary art and its followers.
