The Intimate Concerts Series of the Molinari Quartet are back at the Molinari Foundation from the beginning of July. So now is the time to reserve your seats today! The Intimate Concerts respect current government health standards with social distancing and the wearing of masks. In accordance with government guidelines, the vaccination passport and photo ID will be required at entry. Concerts can accommodate approximately 25 people per concert. Reservations required. Music from Quebec<\/strong>
Three works from Qu\u00e9bec composers with three very different aesthetics will be heard during this concert.You will follow the dramatic life of the Cuban poet Reinaldo Arenas in Avant la nuit, Quartet no.1 by \u00c9ric Champagne, then hear the delicacy and the subtils colours of Keiko Devaux\u2019s Dust with in filigree Beethoven\u2019s Adagio from opus 132. To end the concert, Walter Boudreau\u2019s Le grand m\u00e9ridien, in which are confronted a motet by Spanish composer Tomas Luis de Victoria (1548-1611) and the psychedelic exhilaration of the imaginative music of Boudreau, will make you travel through time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En toute libert\u00e9! features two works that use the controlled aleatory technique. Even though all the notes and rhythms are precisely marked, Boucourechliev and Joachim\u2019s quartets give the musicians a certain freedom. These works are unique because they are always a little different at each performance.Other than the Quatuor III by Andr\u00e9 Boucourechliev and Quatuor (1997) by Otto Joachim, the Molinari Quartet will perform Kelly-Marie Murphy\u2019s energetic Oblique Light. With a special thought for R. Murray Schafer, who passed away in August 2021, the musicians will end the concert with his 13th quartet, Alzheimer\u2019s Masterpiece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
