C\u00f4t\u00e9<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Louise B\u00e9dard Danse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was in Montreal that Louise B\u00e9dard discovered contemporary dance, notably within the<em> Nouvelle Aire<\/em> dance group. The young woman quickly made her mark as an dancer and performed for the major Quebec dance personalities, including Jean-Pierre Perreault and Jeanne Renaud. In becoming aware of the rich possibilities of dance as a means of expression, she founded her own company,<em> Louise B\u00e9dard Danse<\/em>.&nbsp; From the very first piece in 1983, Louise has created over thirty works \u2013 solos and group pieces, intended to be staged or performed <em>in situ<\/em>. Her works show a great degree of refinement and a constant concern for detail in performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a choreographer and performer, she regularly takes part in multidisciplinary projects and often allows her own choreographic language to be influenced by other forms of art, particularly the visual arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Solo Series allows the exhibited works to be presented in new ways. In addition,<em> in situ<\/em> performances allow for the exploration of relationships which occur between physical premises, choreography, performers and visitors.
