She is currently a professor at Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al (UQAM) in art history and museology and holder of the UQAM Research Chair in Curatorial Studies and Practices. Member of Figura and co-founder of the research and reflection group CIECO: Collection et imp\u00e9ratif \u00e9v\u00e8nementiel \/ The Convulsive Collection, she is involved in several research projects subsidized by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (CRSH): \u201cArchiving the present: imaginary of exhaustiveness in contemporary cultural productions\u201d (2018-2022), \u201cInvestigative museology: rethinking the history of exhibitions through the trajectory of works of art\u201d (2021-2026), as well as the Partnership \u201cNew uses of collections in art museums\u201d (Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, 2021-2028). She has recently published in the journals Culture &amp; Mus\u00e9es, Interm\u00e9dialit\u00e9s, Mus\u00e9ologies and Stedelijk Journals. She co-directed with M\u00e9lanie Boucher and Johanne Lamoureux the book \u201cReinventing the collection: art and the museum at the time of events\u201d, published at the PUQ in September 2022. Marie Fraser has curated around thirty exhibitions in Canada and Europe and was chief curator at the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019art contemporain de Montr\u00e9al (2010-2013), as well as curator of the Canada education, culture and organizational development, from 1983 to 1994 and from 2013 to 2021, at the helm of her company, Les Productions M\u00e9tamorphoses, and as a contract worker, she carried out a number of museology and education projects. She has contributed to the growth and transformation of major cultural institutions such as the Biosph\u00e8re &#8211; Mus\u00e9e de l&#8217;Environnement, the Cosmod\u00f4me, EXPOTEC, Pointe-\u00e0-Calli\u00e8re &#8211; Mus\u00e9e d&#8217;arch\u00e9ologie et d&#8217;histoire de Montr\u00e9al, the Biod\u00f4me de Montr\u00e9al, the Insectarium and the Montr\u00e9al Botanical Garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">From 2000 to 2013, she was President and CEO of the Old Port of Montr\u00e9al Corporation, and Vice-President from 1997 to 2000, responsible for the development of the Montr\u00e9al Science Centre. From 1994 to 1997, she was Executive Director of the McCord Museum of Canadian History in Montreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">From 1975 to 1978, she taught at secondary school level, and from 1979 to 1983, she led various projects for the training, dissemination and promotion of scientific and technical culture in Quebec as part of the Conseil de d\u00e9veloppement du loisir scientifique team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards for her commitment to the community. In 2004, she was named a Member of the Order of Canada and awarded the McNeil Medal by the Royal Society of Canada. In 2012, she received the Frederik J. Todd Award from the Association des architectes paysagistes du Qu\u00e9bec and the Meritorious Service Award from the Canadian Museums Association. In 2018, she received the Prix Carri\u00e8re from the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 des mus\u00e9es du Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">She holds an undergraduate degree in biology from Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al and professional certifications in secondary science education and professional Head of Conservation at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts since 2007, and will leave this position in the fall of 2024. Trained in chemistry and art history, he completed a master&#8217;s degree in restoration-conservation at Queen&#8217;s University in Kingston, Ontario. He developed the specialty of contemporary art conservation at the National Gallery of Canada Laboratory (1984-2007). As a researcher, he participated in the activities of the DOCAM alliance research group (2005-2010), and was associated with a group led by Francine Couture (UQAM) concerned with the re-exhibition of contemporary art (2007-2013).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">In parallel, he has acted as an independent curator, in particular with the Axe N\u00e9o7 center (Gatineau). for culture, artists and audiences, whether in the museum, music, cultural, political or film sectors. She has managed communications and marketing for several public and private institutions, including the Orchestre symphonique de Montr\u00e9al, the Montr\u00e9al Science Centre and the Old Port of Montr\u00e9al Corporation. Since 2009, she has headed communications and public affairs at the National Film Board of Canada (NFB). She has also held strategic positions touching on many aspects of civic life and involvement in the office of Montreal mayor Jean Dor\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">She holds an MBA from the \u00c9cole de gestion de l&#8217;UQAM, a master&#8217;s certificate in marketing and communications from York University and a bachelor&#8217;s degree in political science and economics from McGill University. Until recently, she served for six years on the boards of the Alliance des femmes des industries cr\u00e9atives (Allia) and Women in Film and Television Tiohti\u00e0:ke\/Montr\u00e9al-based artist and curator whose research focuses on the constructions and imaginations of cultures and communities through installations, sculptures, textile works, and drawings. Since 2000, she has exhibited her work and participated in residencies in North America, Europe, and China. Tam has received grants and fellowships from the Canada Council for the Arts, Conseil des arts du Qu\u00e9bec, and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. Tam was the winner of the 2021 Giverny Capital Prize, a finalist for the 2017 Louis-Comtois Prize, a finalist for the 2016 Prix en art actuel from the Mus\u00e9e national des beaux-arts de Qu\u00e9bec, and long-listed for the 2010 and 2016 Sobey Art Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Tam holds an MFA in Sculpture (School of the Art Institute of Chicago) and a PhD in Cultural Studies (Goldsmiths, University of London). He has worked for Vie des Arts magazine, where he was associate editor in the 1980s, contributed to Le Devoir newspaper from 1982 to 1987, and worked for Radio-Canada for some twenty years. He has often served as an independent curator for various museums, exhibition centers, and galleries in Quebec and abroad. In this capacity, he has authored several exhibition catalogs. He has been a member of the International Association of Art Critics since 1980 and served for many years on the editorial board of the magazine Espace. In 2004, he became the first director of the Guido Molinari Foundation, a position he held until 2019. He obtained a doctorate from Universit\u00e9 Laval (1998) for his research on the Desjardins painting collection. After teaching at Concordia University (1976 to 1986), he became a professor at the Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al from 1988 until his retirement in 2010.\u202f He has curated some twenty exhibitions, including those devoted to Fran\u00e7ois Baillarg\u00e9, Marc Garneau, Pierre Dorion, Guy Pellerin, Micheline Beauchemin, Robert Wolfe, Irene F. Whittome and the painters of Mont\u00e9e St-Michel. His research on the work of Ozias Leduc and Suzor-Cot\u00e9 is currently highly regarded. He took courses in painting and sculpture, notably with sculptor Pierre Granche. After graduating, he decided to live in the country, at Lac Ouareau. A businessman, he ran a restaurant-bistro in St-Donat for 5 years.
