Join artist Klaus Scherübel and curators Marie-Eve Beaupré and Yun Wang for this guided tour to learn more about the creation of the exhibition Venice 1968: The Biennale of Protest, Vol. 30.
At the heart of Klaus Scherübel’s work lies a reinterpretation of the exhibition presented by Guido Molinari and Ulysse Comtois at the Canadian Pavilion during that 34th Biennale. Scherübel proposes to revisit this complex body of work through an immersive installation, conceived through research in art history, museology, and social history. Using his own distinctive visual and conceptual language—which uniquely combines image, text, publication, sculpture, architecture, and exhibition design—the artist creates a work that goes beyond mere reconstruction to examine the mechanisms of transmission, interpretation, and staging of the past within the contemporary museum space.
